The start of the academic year, September is always an important month for everyone. Signalling the end of summer, which has been an especially brilliant one this year, 2017 moves into the Autumn with a great selection of new tracks. Leading this month’s releases is the iconic Paloma Faith, who returns for the first time since 2014 with Crybaby.
It’s astounding to believe that we are nearing the end of not just another month but another season. With stunning weather over a month ago, the summer kicked off in style with huge anthems and as we prepare for the chaotic even that is Reading & Leeds festival this weekend, we are constantly reminded of 2017’s glorious releases from artists across the line up. Leading the way this week is a rock band that can only be described as titanic. Having headlined Reading & Leeds themselves in 2014, Queens of the Stone Age release their highly anticipated seventh album Villains upon a heap of rumours that they are going to perform a secret set at Reading today.
As we stride further into the summer, we are gifted with a huge list of new releases this week. Spanning a variety of genres, there are some sparkling summer anthems alongside rock giants. Whatever your taste in music, there’s something here for everyone and whether you’re listening on a beach in the Algarve or trying not to sweat to much in the office, we’re guaranteed you’ll enjoy them. Here are our Tracks of the Week with in depth reviews.
Each week we lie in hope that something special is going to come from just around the corner. Over the past month it has seemed as if something special has come every week in the form of sensational new tracks, beautifully refined albums and surprising comebacks and thankfully this week is no different. Leading the way this week is Lana Del Rey, who teams up with the huge rapper A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carter for latest track Summer Bummer, the fourth track to be released from the upcoming Lust For Life record.
