Following an entertaining halloween, we move into the penultimate month of 2017 with the return of one of hip hop’s finest groups. After seven years, the Pharrell Williams featuring N.E.R.D. return with a new single, Lemon, which features the one and only Rihanna. Making a move for album of the year this week is the hugely talented Sam Smith, who releases his second studio record The Thrill Of It All, three years after the release of his world-conquering debut.
One of the most eventful months for music fans, we’ve seen the likes of HAIM, Declan McKenna and Lana Del Rey all release new records plus the likes of Latitude, NOS Alive, Mad Cool, Bilbao BBK, Lollapalooza Paris and many more festivals stun festival goers with the diversity and strength of artists and sets. This week sees the incredible Arcade Fire releases their fifth record Everything Now, which is a cosmic blend of indie, disco and many more elements. As the summer breaks through, there’s a noticeable shift in the type of music releases that we get each week. Dance anthems seem to dominate the major releases whilst the biggest stars start to release new albums. This week sees French superstar DJ David Guetta team up with Justin Bieber for a legendary colaboration 2U. Royal Blood continue their preparation ahead of their pending album release with the releases of latest track I Only Lie When I Love You.
