July. For many it’s a chance to enjoy the rare sight of sun or the unpredictably chaotic summer holidays with children. For music fans, July has always been a month of big summer anthems, festivals and new records. This July is no different, with a stunning selection of huge tracks perfect for long summer nights or that rare unexpected day of rain that the UK summer is always akin to. We hope you enjoy the start to what should be a great month for everyone and here are our Tracks of the Week with in depth reviews.
A huge list of new releases were given to us this week, highlighting the quality of both artists and producers that we currently have. With the heat of May continuing, some of the tracks we’ve highlighted are perfect for a May barbecue whilst others are just beautiful to relax to. We can’t wait to give you more of the highlights of 2017 so far but in the meantime here are our Tracks of the Week with in depth reviews.
Each week we lie in hope that something special is going to come from just around the corner. Over the past month it has seemed as if something special has come every week in the form of sensational new tracks, beautifully refined albums and surprising comebacks and thankfully this week is no different. Leading the way this week is Lana Del Rey, who teams up with the huge rapper A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carter for latest track Summer Bummer, the fourth track to be released from the upcoming Lust For Life record.
As the first week of July comes to an end, it’s safe to say that the summer has truly started. We’ve already had a sensational Glastonbury plus whole list of further celebrations and this week’s new music continues to celebrate the best that music has to offer. What better to celebrate than with the rightful return of Kesha, an artist who has been through such a hard time over the last few years. She releases track Praying whilst superstar DJ Zedd teams up with former One Direction member Liam Payne for Get Low.
Only a week ago, the first full day of music from 2017’s Glastonbury Festival was underway, a day which contributed to what was one of the greatest weekends of music in recent memory. As we finish June with a final list of music releases, it seems a great time to take a step back and appreciate just how great 2017 has been so far. Leading this week’s music releases are Arcade Fire, who release Signs Of Life, the Canadian alternative group’s third single from their upcoming fifth record Everything Now.
A few days after the Brit Awards, we are treated this week to a brilliant collection of new music and surprisingly a lot of collaborations. Coldplay and The Chainsmokers treat us to their collaboration Something Just Like This whilst Calvin Harris returns with a huge collaboration with Frank Ocean and Migos on Slide.
