With just over two months left of 2017, it’s startling to look back at some of the trends of the year. Huge comebacks, great breakout stars and sensational festivals are just a few things that the year will be remembered for. One thing that pop fans will surely not forget is the changing dynamic of Taylor Swift, whose switch to a rougher and darker style of pop has given her a new image. Swift returns again this week with yet another single, this time called Gorgeous whilst indie giants MGMT release their first single in four years called Little Dark Age.
The slow and steady return of Rita Ora continues with the release of Anywhere whilst Adam Levine’s Maroon 5 team up with one of America’s biggest rappers A$AP Rocky in Whisky. The incredible singer-songwriter Frank Turner releases his second single of the year in There She Is. The incredible Stereophonics release a stunning rock ballad called Before Anyone Knew Our Name.
Former One Direction star Liam Payne continues his solo career with Bedroom Floor. Nick Jonas releases Home, a single recorded for the motion picture “Ferdinand” whilst Kelly Clarkson releases yet another song this month, this time called Meaning of Life. Fifth Harmony bring out Can You See
We are treated to some big DJ collaborations this week as well, with Kygo teaming up with The Night Game for Kids in Love, whilst Naughty Boy brings along Joe Jonas for One Chance To Dance. Sigma teams up with Quavo and Sebastian Kole on Forever
Off Bloom continue to show everyone just why they are one of the hottest new artists in the world right now, with the release of Lover Like Me. Former Rihanna collaborator Mikky Ekko returns with the release of latest single Light The Way whilst the brilliant Gengahr release Mallory. One of hip hop’s biggest rising stars 67 brings out a new track called This Side.
Perhaps one of the UK’s leading female artists, Jessie Ware returns following the birth of her child, with a new record Glasshouse. Following Harry Styles, Niall Horan releases his first solo record this year called Flicker. UK hip hop heavyweights Krept & Konan release their latest album 7 Days which features a handful of special guests, including Stormzy. One of our breakout artists of 2017, Lewis Capaldi, releases his debut EP Bloom this week as well, a definite listen for everyone needing something calm them down. R&B group MiC LOWRY release the MOOD EP.
