The Release Radar 25/08/17: Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, The Killers and more

It’s astounding to believe that we are nearing the end of not just another month but another season. With stunning weather over a month ago, the summer kicked off in style with huge anthems and as we prepare for the chaotic even that is Reading & Leeds festival this weekend, we are constantly reminded of 2017’s glorious releases from artists across the line up. Leading the way this week is a rock band that can only be described as titanic. Having headlined Reading & Leeds themselves in 2014, Queens of the Stone Age release their highly anticipated seventh album Villains upon a heap of rumours that they are going to perform a secret set at Reading today.

Fellow rock titans Foo Fighters prepare for their eagerly awaited ninth album with the release of their second single The Sky Is A Neighbourhood. Las Vegas heroes The Killers complete a staggering week for rock releases with their third track of the year Wonderful Wonderful. Pop megastar Taylor Swift returns for the first time since 2016 with Look What You Made Me Do. Jared Leto’s rock giants 30 Seconds To Mars also make a comeback this week after a long period away with single Walk On Water.

Angus & Julia Stone also make a return with new single Chateau whilst Irish duo Picture This release Jane.

Aside from Queen of the Stone Age’s Villains, there are album releases from the likes of PVRIS who release All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell and the ever-brilliant rap collective A$AP Mob with Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy. Fifth Harmony release their self-titled first record which is also the first record without breakaway pop star Camila Cabello who split from the group towards the end of last year. Following on from 2014’s critically acclaimed Lost in the Dream, The War on Drugs return this week with their latest album, A Deeper Understanding whilst indie newcomers Flyte release their debut album The Loved Ones.
