Glastonbury 2017: Line Up Announced

Huge line up revealed including Katy Perry, The xx, Biffy Clyro and much more.

Finally, the time has come! Glastonbury organisers have at last revealed who will be playing the 2017 edition of the festival. Joining the already announced headliners of Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran plus Kris Kristofferson are global pop icon Katy Perry, Scottish rock giants Biffy Clyro and alternative band The xx. Their sets look set to be huge with Katy Perry rumoured to be releasing a new album in the coming months, The xx released their latest album in January, so it will be a great opportunity for fans to see the new music. Having headlined Reading & Leeds, Isle of Wight Festival and T in the Park, Biffy Clyro’s slot looks likely to be their audition as potential Glastonbury headliners in the future.

The National will be playing the Somerset festival with former Bee Gees member Barry Gibb filling the Sunday Legends slot. Royal Blood and alt-j look set to have big slots at the festival whilst Lorde, Phoenix and Haim make highly anticipated returns. The rise of grime is seen in the line up with big slots for Stormzy, Boy Better Know, Kano and Wiley whilst Dizzee Rascal, who first brought grime to the mainstream, will also play.

Legendary artists Chic and The Jacksons will play whilst there are big dance slots for Major Lazer, Justice and Annie Mac. The festival will also see performances from some of the country’s most popular artists including Glass Animals, Courteeners, George Ezra, Clean Bandit, London Grammar, Rag’n’Bone Man, Circa Waves, Declan McKenna, Halsey, Solange, Birdy and Kaiser Chiefs.

Alternative fans have a huge variety of sets to look out for with the likes of Wild Beasts, Laura Marling, The Flaming Lips, Pheonix, Warpaint, Father John Misty, Future Islands, Temples, The Lemon Twigs, Metronomy, First Aid Kit and Kate Tempest all playing the 2017 edition.

With more artists to still be announced, this year’s event looks set to be one of the best in recent times.
