New Music Friday in Brief 10/02/17: Katy Perry, The Magic Gang, Jamiroquai and more

It’s been an incredible start to 2017 so far with the return of many huge artists. This week sees the trend continuing, with global pop star Katy Perry returning with track Chained to the Rhythm. Jamiroquai also continue their return to music with their second release of 2017 Cloud 9.

Huge upcoming indie band The Magic Gang released on Monday How Can I Compete?, a sure potential for one of the biggest indie songs of the year. Fellow upcoming indie band The Night Cafe release Strange Clothes whilst Milky Chance release track Ego and Anne-Marie continues her pop rise with Ciao Adios.

Tove Lo releases Lies in the Dark, from the 50 Shades Darker franchise and the wonderful indie band Coasts make a comeback with track Heart Starts Beating. The legendary Sia releases new track Helium and Prides return with Away With The Night.

Album releases this week come from Rag’n’Bone Man with his much anticipated debut album. Underground rapper Devlin and US rapper Lupe Fiasco also have albums out. In depth review of our favourite new tracks from this week will be coming shortly but in the meantime we hope you enjoy all the new music on offer.

    1. Hi Julian, thank you for your comment. We can’t wait for the new releases by Arcade Fire, Lorde, The Big Moon, Wolf Alice and LCD Soundsystem amongst so many other great albums which are to be released later on in the year.

The return of LCD Soundsystem has been teased over the last six months with James Murphy confirming that the band are recording for their new album, which is widely believed to be this year so fingers crossed.
