New Music Friday in Brief: Ed Sheeran, Elbow and more

2017 has kickstarted with a bang with a huge list of new releases in its first week. Ed Sheeran returns with two brand new tracks – Castle on the Hill and Shape of You. Elbow have released New Disco, the second song from their new album Little Fictions. 

The xx and London Grammar both released stunning new singles earlier this week with Say Something Loving and Rooting For You.

British electronic duo Snakehips team up with rising alternative pop star MØ on track Don’t Leave whilst rising ambient electronic artist Sohn releases Hard Liquor. Upcoming rock band Get Inuit release another new song in Barbiturates.

Today sees album releases from indie sensations Sundara Karma and Surrey rock band You Me At Six.

There are a string of new rap releases as well this week with Tyga’s Feel Me featuring Kanye West leading the way. Professor Green’s return continues with Active and Grime kingpin Wiley releases Speakerbox.

With new releases from pop stars Dua Lipa and Keisza, as well as comebacks from British Sea Power and The Shins, this week has proven to be a huge start for the new year. In depth reviews of this week’s new music is on the way shortly.
